Oh how I loved Mrs. Rector. She taught me how to sew and how to iron a shirt. To this day I iron just as she taught me in 1965. I am amazed that she was able to complete her grocery shopping for all the people she would see. When I would come home from Virginia to visit my parents, I always ran into her at Ingles and she was always so kind and made me feel special each time we saw each other. A very special lady that will be missed and her love for God reflected in everything she did and the difference she made in so many young lives. My condolences to the family!

I Was Sorry To Hear Of Mrs. Rectors' Passing. Once At Store, She Said, Claire, When I Called Her Mrs. Rector. Saw Her A Few Times At Ingles, My Husband And I Would Chat While She Was Getting Cat Food. She Was My 9th Grade Home Ec Teacher In 1975.
Once, She Made Me Stay After School To Finish Sewing My Blouse On The Sewing Machine, Which I Did. The Next Day When I Got To School, I Saw My Blouse Hanging In The Display Case In Front Of The School. A Special Woman And Will Be Missed.

I had Ms. Rector at North Buncome High for Home Economics. What a wonder teacher and person she was. Always enjoyed her. I often saw her at Ingles and she always remembered me and called me by my name. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May God Bless You.

A pillar of our community has gone to her reward. She has positively affected untold number of lives! She so loved her family and was happy to share with anyone the wonder of them, and rightly so. She loved her students, her church and anyone in need of just a smile or her long-term care. My family and I were fortunate enough to be blessed by her. Her love always translated into action. Larry, the returned loved from you and your children and grandchildren has not gone unnoticed. A beautiful family! You are in my thoughts and prayers as you adjust. ~Sandra Bishop-Ray
