Ruby Jay West

WEAVERVILLE – Ruby Jay West, age 87, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

Miss West was born May 25, 1933 in Madison County to the late Lloyd G. and Etta Ponder West; she was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a self-employed seamstress. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ledolia West and Edna Cole; brothers, Vernon Lloyd West and Murray West.

Surviving are her nephew, Jim West and wife Judy; niece, Pat Burleson and husband Robert; and several great nieces and nephews.

Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville. Reverend Keith Watkins will officiate.

For those who would like to sign the register book and your pay respects, Miss West will be available for viewing on Friday, November 13, 2020 between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville. The family will not be present.
