Teresa Luther Hyder

WEAVERVILLE – Teresa Luther Hyder, age 60, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 6, 2021, only a few hours after her mother.

Teresa was born June 9, 1960 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She is the daughter of the late Rex C. and June Shuler Luther. Teresa was a 1978 graduate of Enka High School and afterwards went to work at Waddell, Sluder, Adams Insurance Agency.  One of her greatest achievements was raising her two sons.  She loved to cook and have family together.  Teresa grew up in Starnes Cove Baptist Church, formerly attended Locust Grove Baptist Church and currently attended Grace Point Church. 

Surviving are her husband of 42 plus years, Gary M. Hyder; two sons, Scotty Hyder and wife Amanda, and Matt Hyder and wife Kimberly all of Weaverville; brother, Gary Luther and wife Linda of Inman, SC; mother-in-law, Grace Hyder; four grandchildren, Ethan, Reid, Emma and Oliver Hyder; special friend, Marty Stewart of Candler; additional family, Larry, Alma, Melissa and Tim Coates; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, Weaverville. Reverend Adam Ponder officiated.  Burial followed in West Memorial Park, Weaverville.
