Helen Louise Watkins

ASHEVILLE – Helen Louise Watkins, age 86, of Asheville, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at Aston Park Health Care Center.

Mrs. Watkins was born February 28, 1935, in Buncombe County to the late Rex and Anna Lee McCrary Thompson.

 In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Brub” Watkins, who died in 1997 and her son, Rick Watkins.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Fortner (Bobby); granddaughter, Jessica Ford (Landon); and two great grandchildren, Willa Grace and Jase Ford.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 31, 2021 in Pleasant Hills Baptist Church, 754 Aiken Road, Asheville.  Reverend Keith Watkins will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
