Eva Mundy Worley

WEAVERVILLE – Eva Mundy Worley, age 89, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Mrs. Worley was born June 23, 1932, in Buncombe County to the late Fred and Lessie Lunsford Mundy; she had lived all her life in Buncombe County. Eva had a “green thumb” and loved to garden and was an awesome cook. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Over the years she had been a caregiver to so many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carroll Lunsford and Cleates Worley; sons, Kenneth, Randall and Gordon Lunsford grandchildren, Jessica, Kendra, and Brandon Lunsford; sister, Freda Walden and brother Duane Mundy.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Drake and husband Dan; sister, Lois Ponder; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in Penland Cemetery, Weaverville. Rev.’s Clark Henderson and Garry Rogers will officiate.
