Rita B. Ringwood

July 1, 1941 — March 15, 2022

Rita B. Ringwood

Rita B. Ringwood, age 80, arrived in the loving arms of God on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.  She was born in St. Marys, Tasmania, Australia, on the 1st of July 1941 to the late Amy and Walter Scales.  In addition to her parents, Rita is also joining in Heaven, her baby boy Danial, granddaughter, Nina “T.” Horan and her siblings, Geoff, Gilbert and Jennifer.

Left to cherish Rita’s memory are her loving husband of 25 years, Michael Ringwood; and her children, Stephen and his wife Sonia, Anthony, Janine, Tanya and her husband Brent, Joanne and her husband Theodore, and children by marriage Stacy Ringwood and Steven Ringwood; her siblings, Roma, Alf, John, Ashley, and Murray; and her grandchildren, Amy, Megan, Adena, Nathan, Natasha, Joshua, Nicole, Rebecca, and by marriage, Kaylee and Makayla.  She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, Jack, Molly, Alice, Dakota, Levi, Marley, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved all very much.

She previously lived in Tasmania Australia, Ohio, Colorado and in Buncombe County, North Carolina for the last ten years.

A True Blue Aussie, Rita loved her country.  She always told it like it was and spoke her mind. One of her quotes would be, “I never forget anything that I remember.”   We will miss her sense of humor, straightforwardness, and her sharp wit and colorful words.  But most of all, her inner strength, which was a force to be reckoned with.  In addition, Rita loved the beach and outdoors (but not the creepy crawlies). She was also an avid hiker in her younger years, as well as hobbies like knitting, drawing, cross stitch, crossword and many more.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR MUM

 AFTERGLOW

I'd like the memory of me

to be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an afterglow of

smiles when day is done.

I'd like to leave an echo

whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times, and laughing times,

and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve

to dry before the sun,

Of happy memories that I leave behind

when day is done.

"WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU MUM"

The family will celebrate Rita’s adventurous spirit both in the U.S.A. and on her native land, Australia.
